Leave Things A Little Better Tan You Found Them
The Rising Waters
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You
of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" --Matthew 14:31
The storm the disciples experienced that day was tenacious. <(See Add-102 end page.) The disciples thought they
were going to die, tensions was high, here were seasoned fisherman knowing what the sea could do in a storm. On top of that
when the looked out towards the water, they saw, what they thought was a ghost coming towards them.. The disciples were being
motivated by anxiety and fear, it lead them to do what “they knew” that is working to sails and oars.. Jesus knew the disciples would be facing the storm, just like He knows we will be facing storms in our
life, he knew what they had a choice to do. There are sure to be trail, struggles, and sorrows, in all our own lives. We will
face turbulent waters in and out of major storms. However there are some lessons you cannot get by an instructor or teacher,
as humans we can only find the wisdom in experience. These that we have to be lived through, no instructor or teacher is going
to be able to fully mold you into becoming what God what God wants us to become, it’s in the experiences we grow the best, whereas we can help others. Just as He was showing His Disciples that day
He try’s to teach us today faith in Him will always quite the storm.
In recovery, we know this all too well, we have to experience to some degree some thing for ourselves, even trying
to self-fix our addiction, although how many of us know that changing cannot become when we are expecting a different result
while doing the same old stuff. AA calls that the true example of insanity. _ doing the same old stuff while expecting a different
result._ We have to agree just studying our own actions for ourselves, you see, when we come to you, we are learning as you
to become instrument of our creator whereas there will be people who’s lives will become stronger knowing one another,
that reformed from the enemy’s great schemes, lives an example. As sure as there will be Light in day time, it has to
be us who take our light to the world. I have lost way too many friends taking another run, of it, they returning at a grave
site. Just this year I asked a friend what he was doing, “I have it under control, his control led him to a grave site,
it’s hard to take and yet we have to continue to try to help others. It is our example foremost that will help others
accept and move fore ward our lives for the most part that will help other’s to choose sobriety TODAY.
There are for sure lessons we can only deal with adequately by experience, no book or instructor can help you what
to feel or how to deal with what is inside you. Telling you, that you will experience sorrow in your life, cannot / will not
be able to make you capable of dealing with what you will feel in the duration of the experience. If you’re an animal
lover no one can tell you the how’s to what you are going to react to the experience. If you have had a close friend
die or move far away no one can tell you what or how you be in the experience. It has to be what you experience foremost by
you in you every one is different.
We also interact differently in the experience; one thing I can tell you is sorrow is a global experience. There
actually are a few emotions that are global Love, Anger, Fear, Sorrow, and dealing with death…. I Love Animals, even
the little baby birds I feed in the morning,.. If I was to loose a cat or dog it would affect me greatly, another may not
experience the same.
We, at the end of the day, know that it is in faith we are to grow. When the every day struggles that can happen,
when we call on God, when the huge obstacle comes our way, if we go to Him in the small stuff the huge one will be far less
of an impacted..
Just because we grow differently, in different stages, one mans ability to grow in his faith may not be as advanced
as your own, that does not make it less important.
The lesson Jesus was showing the disciples that day was if we take our eyes off him there is where you will find
us sinking into the waters of life, the drowning of deception will come at us like a flood. That day Jesus was showing them
the paradox of the teacher and the Savior.
God expects us to learn from His word, (The Truth, The Living word of God = The Bible.),
But He went a step further for us, He not only gave us His Son a ransom for our sin. Jesus was an example for us
to model after. This life-walks becomes simpler when we put our trust and faith in The King of Kings.
Over the years it has been said again and again “I cannot live up to the example Jesus left us.” Nor
can I, but there is a huge difference in tying to be him, and allowing Him to work through us. Huge difference man has a serious
pride problem, we cannot be Him, we can allow Him to work through us. It’s in doing so that He shines the best. He will
change our talk, He will change our walk, He will make our walk match our talk. Then is when we gladly put away the old stuff,
why…? .. our focus changes the stuff of the world means so much less to us, we finally see the shackles of the world
in full view the focus The Lord arranging the lens in which we see everything from, person experience it’s life changing.
For when we were still without strength at just the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a
righteous, man will one die, yet perhaps, for a good man someone might dare to die. But God demonstrated His own Love, for
us, in that, while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
At about that time is when we grow the best as believers in the True and Living God. Will we make mistakes...? Will we still sin...? of course we are human For all have sinned and come short of
the Glory of God. Until we are joined with The Savior we will unfortunately experience our making mistakes, we will sin, and
we are the people, we are the one who puts a measuring stick upon sin. God calls sin, sin. As long as we are in these bodies
no matter where we live or where we worship, what we do for others we are humans, perfection is not a reality for us until
we will be with The Savior. No matter who judges those word, I am sorry to say, they are faults. We will not be perfect on
this ball of dirt, But that’s OK as long as we have a desire to be with Christ we will have an abundance of power within
the Word of Christ. The Lord will teach us to become more and more like Him. The twelve were not sinless, God Loves us so
much He will take us just the way we are, but too much to leave us that way. Know this we need one another, we were structured
that way to help one another Grow in Christ, doing so makes a wonderful experience of this journey, So Lets do that…
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek To be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are Pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. AMEN.
