“If a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual,
restore such a
one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest
thou also be tempted.”
Galatians 6:1
As a young boy in Florida,
I loved to collect coconuts and sell them. One day while
up a tree, I was using my right hand to disconnect a coconut
when the palm frond let
go. I fell on the grass, but my left arm fell on the
sidewalk. It was a bad situation.
My brother was there, and he saw what happened to me.
As I was lying there, having fallen, what did I need? Well,
I didn’t need a lecture.
I didn’t need my brother to go around to the community
and
say, “Did you hear about
Adrian?”
I didn’t need for him to come along and shoot me to put me out of my misery.
What I needed was restoration.
Do you have a brother or a sister in Christ who is overtaken
with a fault? If so, go
and restore him; restore her.
Pastor Adrian Rogers.
I loved this devotion because I talk to people sometimes
stuck in the realm of either
Placing judgment or being critical of others doings, sayings
or critical of what they just don’t understand. I say lead them to Christ and
let God deal with the other stuff, If he / she be with Christ then it is our
business only to lead a person to the truth, God Truth not correct them, change
them or make them what we think they should be. I mean gets this with me,
countless marriages destroyer by one partner trying to change the other.
Countless acquaintances / friendships damaged, some beyond repair because one
person has assumed they have this great connection with the word that they cant
see people are human. I love the old cliché -- Let Go, and Let God -- as
you know I love
the The Serenity Prayer, Prayer works.
Don’t accept abuse because of, that is the other side of
the
scare, no one should be abusing you or others. But be true to yourself God
chose us to act in Love. – Love does not tear down but build up….. Falcon
Better Tomorrows
I know that if you grew up experiencing these things every
day in your young life, let's be honest it is hard to stop, but changing your
way of thinking is possible (should any of this apply to your life) I had to
learn to change my thinking I grew up in a very dysfunctional home many forms
of abuse including how one treated others, changing your thought process takes
work but the rewards are so exciting and ever giving because life is far to
short to try to be dealing with someone else's program (someone else life)
Jesus used the log in the eye parable, I have met so many that found relief in
their life when they turned their focus on what is going on in their life and
stopped worrying about what is in another.
Don't get me wrong be there for your friends, and if you are
like me, I don't sugar coat
a great deal of stuff, if your my personal friend I am going
to be honest with you, don't mean I am always right or that allows me to be
rude, nasty or abusive or I know everything far from it, or even that I have
all the answers. News Flash I don't, what I can tell you is based mostly on
experience and being in the Ministry a long, long time, I do have some
experience dealing with some issues. The more men and woman stand together the
more things get done both in our lives and in our recovery, most else, to me.
is wasted time.
